New year, new me?

Dear reader,

Before you start thinking “Did this girl really say ‘new year, new me’?” remember that I put a question mark at the end of that sentence.

Every year, multitudes of people post this quote to their various social media pages. Its usually accompanied by a rant of how their year sucked and how the next one will be “SO MUCH BETTER!”. Well, 2018 was kinda terrible and 2019 is actually going to be so much better.

There was just so much that went wrong that 2019 has no choice but to be better.

Universe, this is NOT a challenge

Tomorrow I start Gold Coast real estate school… again. I have a problem with procrastination and let my 2 year certification lapse. I think I was just too comfortable with my life the way it was that I really wasn’t trying to make a change.

Now I’m uncomfortable, now its time for a change.

There are too many opportunities that I’ve let go of because I was afraid of change. You can read all about those here.

Change is inevitable. Change happens on a daily basis. I can’t tell you why the hard stuff make you better. I just know that it always does. This year is going to be hard. Yes, it sounds super exciting from the outside.

Mardi gras and engagement pictures in New Orleans, the Bahamas for our wedding, and Japan for our honeymoon

But we are also getting a new roof and new windows installed on the house and I’m trying to start a new career. We’re doing these things all while trying not to go broke or crazy from working so much. No, we didn’t win the lottery, we are just really great at planning and saving (and spending)

I will be fighting all of the anxiety monsters to accomplish everything this year, but I’m sure it’ll all be worth it.
